Fort Hood Soldiers Volunteer For Middle East Deployments - To Escape Heat!
III Corps leadership announced last Thursday of a spike in requests for deployment to the middle east! One Lt. Colonel, who wished to remain anonymous, stated "We were not prepared for this level of enthusiasm for deployment". According to officials at III Corps many of the Soldiers requesting Middle East deployment, are Veterans with at least 1 prior deployment under their belt. Most of the requests are currently coming from Soldiers in Combat Arms units! When asked why you would rather be back in the Middle East instead of Central Texas, E4 Corporal Dante Gevashet with 2nd Battalion 5th Cavalry Regiment stated "AT LEAST THAT HEAT IS FUCKING DRY"! During this same interview an Army Chaplain was overheard complaining of how they were unable to perform baptisms for new born children. "The Holy Water keeps evaporating before we can complete the ritual". The Cold War Times has noted that some Soldiers think the increase in deployment requests is overblown. One Soldier with the Army Military Pay Office stated "I don't know what the fuss is about. The temperature has not felt that bad to me"! At the conclusion of this interview, a Soldier from the back of the office was heard screaming “SHUT THE DOOR! YOUR LETTING THE COLD AIR OUT”!
